The mission of every Infectious Awareables tie is to generate interest, discussion, even excitement about serious public health issues such as this silk Climate Change tie in red.
Believing that humor can be a powerful educational tool, Infectious Awareables neckties take an atypical, slightly irreverent approach to some very serious subjects.

Climate Change. This ice-breaking design symbolizes several of the elements identified with global climate change: the Keeling Curve, a graph measuring the rising concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since 1958; greenhouse gas molecules representative of CO2, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone; and a ìperplexed polar bear in a precarious perch atop an ice patch.
Many thanks to the members of the Purdue Climate Change Research Center, and its director, Dr. Paul Shepson, for their input on this unique design and for their important work on this timely issue.
A back-of-tie "Awareness Note" and a source citation are incorporated in the pattern design, which reads:
"CLIMATE CHANGE is represented here by greenhouse gas molecules CO2, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone; a graphic model of rising CO2 in atmosphere; and a solitary polar bear. Design symbolizes the impact on humans, animals and the sensitive ecosystems that 'tie' our global community together.
"Creative inspiration for this design was provided in part by the members of the Purdue Climate Change Research Center."
